Do art prints come with a border? Most of my art prints come with a Border in a popular Frame size and matching Matte size. These are Easier to Handle and Frame. It provides room for the matting you choose and extra space for hinging the artwork. TIP - The border can be paired with a larger matte and frame, giving the artwork a double matted look! Alternatively, you can have the matte cover the border, giving the artwork a standard single matte aesthetic.

Why should I use a matte for my art print, if it's the same size as my frame?Because Framed Artwork needs to breathe. ⚠️Warning: If your art print is kept in direct contact with the glass, this will cause possible image transfer & issues later. Making removal or reframing difficult without permanent damage to the art print. Using a matte will separate the art from the glazing (glass or acrylic), protecting it from moisture that may accumulate, or other issues caused by direct contact. Mattes provide the proper airspace between the Art and Glass in your frame. If your art print is the same size as your frame opening, it’s easier to use a pre-cut matte for your frame and image size. Simply place the print between the matte and backing inside your frame. There are plenty of Mattes available in stores and online. It’s harder to find frame-art spacers. If your art print is the same size as your frame opening, you can frame it at size without a matte, but you will need Frame Spacers to make the proper airspace between the art and glass in your frame.

What's a Watermark? and Why does my art print have one?A physical watermark is a recognizable image or pattern that is embedded into a physical document, such as paper, to identify the owner, prevent unauthorized duplication, or add a decorative effect. Watermarks are often semi-transparent and placed over the original content so that they do not obstruct the view. I personally hand-stamp each print with a tiny Dragonfly watermark in the bottom right corner of the border. This special touch ensures it came from the me, the Artist. The ink is acid-free, iridescent, and not obvious...you really have to know where to look to see it shimmer.
